Jocelyn is pronounced JOSS-lin, JOSS-sa-lyn. It is of Old German origin, and the meaning of Jocelyn is "a member of the German tribe, the Gauts". From Gautzelin. Also possibly (Latin) "cheerful". Medieval male name adopted as a feminine name. Josalind is a contemporary blend of Jocelyn and Rosalind. p/s: Naming my first daughter Rosalind, and my second daughter Josalind, would be a great idea. NO? I'm serious. Whatever, i'll bring this up again, probably 10years later. |
